WWE Rumors: Seth Rollins learned of title win during WrestleMania

Seth Rollins was apparently blindsided with the news last Sunday that he would be walking out of WrestleMania with the WWE title

Last Sunday night was a monumental moment in the career of one of the fastest rising stars in wrestling today, Seth Rollins. The young star made history when he cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase during the main event of WrestleMania between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, and not only did he do that, but he ended up walking away with the strap after pinning his former Shield mate.

Now, we’re starting to learn more and more about this booking decision, which was a surprise one, especially when you consider that it seemed like a lock that Reigns was walking out with the title when all was said and done in Levi’s Stadium.

Apparently, while the decision had been made some time over the weekend, Rollins was given very short notice that he was about to hit the top of the mountain in WWE.

According to a report from The Wrestling Observer and Dave Meltzer, Rollins was brought into a meeting with Reigns, Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar during the Ronda Rousey-Rock segment, which as we know was pretty late in the show. Producer Michael Hayes brought him in, they all sat down and the new finish was laid out to the man that was about to become WWE champ.

That might have been the best way to do it, especially if they wanted to keep this as much of a secret as possible. It was definitely a shock to a lot of people, so it worked in the end.
