Could Neville be the one to replace Daniel Bryan in his match with Bad News Barrett at Extreme Rules?
As of this writing, it seems like Daniel Bryan will miss the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view due to an unspecified injury. He is scheduled to defend his WWE Intercontinental Championship against Bad News Barrett. The hope is that Bryan can compete, but given his injury history, WWE won’t want to take any chances.
On the recent episode of Thursday Night SmackDown, the WWE announcers made no note of the former WWE World Heavtweight Champion through the Barrett and Sheamus vs. Neville and Dolph Ziggler match. With the show airing just days before the PPV, it’s hard to think that WWE wouldn’t mention him if he was expected to wrestle at Extreme Rules.
So, if Barrett will still wrestle at the PPV, who could he face?
Maybe that SmackDown match above breaks off into Barrett vs. Neville. The Man That Gravity Forgot has been very impressive in his three weeks on the main roster. Given that WWE seems to be high on him, maybe they put the two British stars into a match. This could be the show-stealing match, if created, despite being thrown together at the last second.
If Bryan is forced to relinquish the Intercontinental Championship tomorrow night (déjà vu), maybe Neville vs. Barrett becomes a title match. This would add an extra layer to the match and put some extra meaning behind it.
If Daniel Bryan is unable to compete at Extreme Rules, who should Bad News Barrett face? Should he even wrestle if Bryan cannot go? Let us know below.
